Rethinking mirror symmetry as a local duality on fields

Abstract

We introduce an algorithm to piecewise dualise linear quivers into their mirror dual. The algorithm uses two basic duality moves and the properties of the $S$-wall which can all be derived by iterative applications of Seiberg-like dualities.

Equivariant localization for wrapped M5-branes and D4-branes

Following the work of [1], we consider six- and seven-dimensional gauged supergravity coupled to a vector multiplet on an ansatz of $AdS_{4,5}\times{M}_2$, respectively, where $M_2$ is a two-dimensional surface with a Killing vector. We construct equivariantly closed forms from spinor bilinears of Killing spinors. From the integration of equivariantly closed forms via the Berline-Vergne-Atiyah-Bott fixed point formula, we derive the gravitational blocks which were previously conjectured. For the construction of equivariantly closed forms, we formulate six- and seven-dimensional gauged supergravity in the very special geometry.

Higher-spins on Taub-NUT and higher-spin Taub-NUT

We consider higher-spin extensions of self-dual Yang-Mills (HS-SDYM) and self-dual Gravity (HS-SDGR), which are also truncations of chiral higher-spin gravity. Higher-spin fields can consistently propagate on gravitational instantons and we construct solutions to the higher-spin equations on the Taub-NUT background. We show that these solutions remain exact solutions of HS-SDYM. For HS-SDGR the perturbation theory converges for any given spin to give a higher-spin generalization of Taub-NUT and we identify a commutative non-associative algebra that governs the structure of the perturbation theory.

Disordered Charged Horizons

We construct fully backreacted charged black brane solutions with a spatially disordered chemical potential in asymptotically AdS$_3$ and AdS$_4$, providing holographic duals of strongly coupled disordered systems. At intermediate temperatures these geometries display highly inhomogeneous horizons, though their geometric averages reproduce the clean BTZ and Reissner-Nordström solutions. The low temperature behavior, however, differs sharply between dimensions. In AdS$_3$, inhomogeneities decay and the horizon flows to the clean charged BTZ fixed point, rendering disorder irrelevant in the infrared. In AdS$_4$, horizon inhomogeneities persist: while the averaged geometry flows to the clean AdS$_2\times \mathbb{R}^2$ throat, the disordered horizon induces a finite residual resistivity. These results show that disorder can qualitatively alter the IR physics of holographic metals and indicate violations of the Harris criterion in strongly coupled systems.
