Extraction of bare Form Factors for $\mathrm B_\mathrm s \to \mathrm K \ell ν$ Decays in non-perturbative HQET

Abstract

We discuss the extraction of the ground state $\langle \mathrm{K} ({\bf p})|V_μ(0)|\mathrm{B} ({\bf 0})\rangle$ matrix elements from Euclidean lattice correlation functions. The emphasis is on the elimination of excited state contributions. Two typical gauge-field ensembles with lattice spacings $0.075, \; 0.05$ fm and pion masses $330,\;270$ MeV are used from the O($a$)- improved CLS 2-flavour simulations and the final state momentum is $|{\bf p}|=0.5\,{\rm GeV}$. The b-quark is treated in HQET including the $1/m_\mathrm{b}$ corrections. Fits to two-point and three-point correlation functions and suitable ratios including summed ratios are used, yielding consistent results with precision of around 2% which is $not$ limited by the $1/m_\mathrm{b}$ corrections but by the dominating static form factors. Excited state contributions are under reasonable control but are the bottleneck towards precision. We do not yet include a specific investigation of multi-hadron contaminations, a gap in the literature which ought to be filled soon.

A novel view of the flavor-singlet spectrum from multi-flavor QCD on the lattice

SU(3) gauge theories with increasing number of light fermions are the templates of strongly interacting sectors and studying their low-energy dynamics and spectrum is important, both for understanding the strong dynamics of QCD itself, but also for discovering viable UV completions of beyond the Standard Model physics. In order to contrast many-flavors strongly interacting theories with QCD on a quantitative footing, we use Lattice Field Theory simulations. We focus on the study of the flavor-singlet spectrum in the scalar and pseudoscalar channels: this is an interesting probe of the dynamics of the strongly interacting sector, as reminded by the QCD case with the $f_0(500)$ ($σ$) and $η^\prime$ mesons. The hierarchy of the spectrum of a strongly coupled new gauge sector of the Standard Model defines the potential reach of future colliders for new physics discoveries. In addition to a novel hierarchy with light scalars, introducing many light flavors at fixed number of colors can influence the dynamics of the lightest flavor-singlet pseudoscalar. We present a complete lattice study of both these flavor-singlet channels on high-statistics gauge ensembles generated by the LatKMI collaboration with 4, 8, and 12 copies of light mass-degenerate fermions. We also present other hadron masses on the lightest ensemble for $N_f=8$ generated by the LatKMI collaboration and discuss the chiral extrapolation of the spectrum in this particular theory. We contrast the results to $N_f=4$ simulations and previous results of $N_f=12$ simulations.

RI/SMOM renormalization for lattice QCD: bilinear and three-quark operators

We review perturbative matching between the regularization-invariant symmetric MOM (RI/SMOM) and MS schemes at the symmetric subtraction point, which is relevant for lattice QCD simulations. For bilinear operators we summarize three-loop conversion factors for local quark currents and for the n=2,3 twist-two moments of structure functions. For three-quark operators we summarize two-loop RI/SMOM matching for N=0 baryonic operators and three-loop anomalous dimensions together with two-loop matching for the N=1 Mellin moment, enabling improved lattice studies of baryon distribution amplitudes. All numerical results quoted here are given in Landau gauge.

A Vector-Vector-Axial Anomaly in 4D

Because it offers exactly-integer topological quantities, the modified Villain discretization offers a route to correct anomaly structure at finite lattice spacing. I will present a 4-dimensional purely-bosonic modified Villain model with an ABJ-type vector-vector-axial anomaly. The model may have a direct continuous phase transition from one SSB phase to another, giving hope of yielding 4D CFT with a VVA anomaly.
