Are Mass and Length Quantized?

Abstract

We suggest that there are time-varying quanta of mass (gomidia) and of length (somia), thus pointing to a quantization of geometry and gravitation. The present numerical value of the gomidium and somium, are, 10 to the power minus 65 grams, and 10 to the power minus 91 centimeters. Gomidia may be responsible for dark matter in the Universe; Heisenberg's principle, confirms the numerical estimates for gomidia and somia, either for the present Universe, or for Planck's time.

Binary Classifier Wire-Resistance Attack on KLJN: Bayes-Optimal Limit at a Narrow Resistor Gap

Machine learning is shown not to increase Eve's successful bit-guessing probability in the binary-classifier-based wire-resistance attack on the Kirchhoff Law-Johnson Noise (KLJN) key exchange when the resistor gap is narrow. Using time-domain simulations of a non-ideal KLJN loop with $R_L = 9$ k$Ω$, $R_H = 10$ k$Ω$ and wire resistances from 0 to 3200 $Ω$, we generate 3000 secure bits per wire resistance and evaluate the mean-square noise voltages at both ends over 100-sample bit exchange periods (BEPs). This probability $p$ is evaluated for the sign rule, the nearest-line rule, logistic regression, support vector machine (SVM), $k$-nearest neighbors, random forest and gradient boosting. The sign rule gives $p = 0.711$ at 50 $Ω$ and 0.682 at 3200 $Ω$. The nearest-line rule, logistic regression and SVM stay close to it and the other classifiers perform worse. For Gaussian noise, the likelihood ratio between the HL and LH cases depends only on the difference of the two mean-square voltages, so the sign rule is Bayes-optimal. The resulting $p_{\max}$ reproduces the measured values and predicts that about 900 to 1200 samples per bit are needed for $p = 0.95$. This difference carries about 0.19 bit per secure bit, 1.5 times the hard-decision value.

Strings as Physical Lines in Vacuum: Basic Concepts for the Computation of the Planck Length and the Planck Mass

Certain linear objects, termed physical lines, are considered, and initial assumptions concerning their properties are introduced. A closed physical line in the form of a circle, termed J-string, is singled out for investigation. It is shown that this curve consists of indivisible line segments of length $\ell_Δ$. It is assumed that a J-string has an angular momentum whose value is $\hbar$.It is then established that a J-string of radius $R$ possesses a mass $m_J$, equal to $h/2πc R$, a corresponding energy, as well as a charge $q_J$, where $q_J = (hc/2π)^{1/2}$. It is also established that $\ell_Δ= 2π(hG/c^3)^{1/2}$, where $c$ is the speed of light and $G$ is the gravitational constant. % Based upon investigation of the properties and characteristics of J-strings, a method is developed for the computation of the Planck length and mass $(\ell^*_P, m^*_P)$. The values of $\ell^*_P$ and $m^*_P$ are computed according to the resulting formulae (and given in the paper); these values differ from the currently accepted ones.

Deriving Schwarzschild and Kerr from the Einstein Equivalence Principle

This manuscript demonstrates that the Schwarzschild and Kerr metrics can be derived fundamentally from the Einstein Equivalence Principle (EEP) without explicit reliance on the Einstein field equations. We show that the EEP implies a gravitational stretching of length in the direction of acceleration, a spatial counterpart to time dilation. In the static case, this effect yields the constraint $g_{00}g_{11}=-1$, from which the Schwarzschild solution is recovered by taking the Newtonian limit. For the stationary case, we employ oblate spheroidal coordinates and construct a physically motivated tetrad to implement the EP, introducing gravity through three unknown functions. By applying the EEP-induced constraints and showing that the principle requires the preservation of the spacetime volume determinant ($g = g_0$), the system is reduced to a single unknown function that yields the Kerr metric. These results suggest that classical tests of General Relativity are, at their core, fundamental validations of the EEP. We further argue that the EEP leads naturally to Unimodular Gravity, implying that the existence of the cosmological constant is a direct consequence of this foundational postulate.
