On primes in arithmetic progression having a prescribed primitive root. II

Abstract

Let a and f be coprime positive integers. Let g be an integer. Under the Generalized Riemann Hypothesis (GRH) it follows by a result of H.W. Lenstra that the set of primes p such that p=a(mod f) and g is a primitive root modulo p has a natural density. In this note this density is explicitly evaluated with an Euler product as result.

Correlations of values of random diagonal forms

We study the value distribution of diagonal forms in k variables and degree d with random real coefficients and positive integer variables, normalized so that mean spacing is one. We show that the l-correlation of almost all such forms is Poissonian when k is large enough depending on l and d.

A Database of Continued Fractions of Polynomial Type

We describe a database of 1925 continued fractions with polynomial coefficients, of which more than 1600 are new, both for interesting constants and for transcendental functions, and provide the database inside the \TeX\ source of the paper. Look in particular at the section ``Table of Contents''.

Galois measures and the Katz map

The purpose of this paper is to explain the proofs of the results announced by Nick Katz in 1977, namely a description of ``Galois measures for Tate modules of height two formal groups over the ring of integers of a finite unramified extension of $\mathbf{Q}_p$''.
