Bispinor Formulation of Spin 3/2 Field Theory

Abstract

In this paper, we investigate an alternative formulation for spin 3/2 field equation. First we will review equation of motion of Dirac and Maxwell, and then construct the equation for spin 3/2 in the similar fashion. Our method actually a generalization of relativistic equation of motion based on spin operator and Hamiltonian similar to Dirac and Maxwell equation in ref. [1] pp. 50. Furthermore, we could not bring the equation to the Klein Gordon limit for every wave function component in spin 3/2 formalism.

Klein-Gordon and Dirac Oscillators in a Constant-Curvature Fock-Lorentz Background

We propose a controlled momentum-space dual of the Fock--Lorentz (FL) transformations and use it to derive a deformed relativistic mass shell. Restricting the FL conformal factor to the cosmological-frame world line $\vx=0$, the invariant relation takes the form $(E^{2}-\vp^{2}c^{2})(1+ct/R)^{2}=m_{0}^{2}c^{4}$, which is equivalent to the standard special-relativistic dispersion law with a time-dependent apparent mass $\mapp(t)=m_{0}/(1+ct/R)$. Canonical quantization then yields Klein--Gordon (KG) and Dirac equations containing a slowly varying mass scale. We show explicitly that squaring the Dirac equation reproduces the KG operator, modulo first-order corrections proportional to $\dot\mapp$ that are suppressed by the ratio of the Compton wavelength to the FL scale. The construction is not presented as a unique covariant phase-space theory; rather, it is a world-line ansatz designed to isolate the spectral consequences of the FL conformal factor. As applications, we study the one-dimensional KG and Dirac oscillators. In the adiabatic regime, governed by the small parameter $ε=c/(Rω)\ll1$, closed-form instantaneous spectra are obtained. The Dirac-oscillator calculation is carried out in component form and then reduced to the physical spinor spectrum, thereby avoiding the double counting of the upper and lower component ladders. Dimensionless plots illustrate the apparent-mass drift, the induced spectral evolution, and the domain of adiabatic validity. For cosmological values of $R$, non-adiabatic corrections are entirely negligible; in the formal limit $t\to\infty$ the apparent mass tends to zero and, for fixed quantum number, the instantaneous levels collapse toward $E=0$.

Machian MOND: a variable $a_0$ in galaxy clusters

Modified Newtonian Dynamics (MOND) generally resolves the need for dark matter in galaxy rotation curves introducing a single new constant of acceleration $a_0$. It is well known that increasing $a_0$ by a factor of a few can alleviate the residual mass discrepancies that MOND leaves in galaxy clusters. Within a parameter-free Machian interpretation of MOND motivated by $a_0\sim GM_u/R_u^2$ arising from the scalar sum of inverse-square distance gravitational mass contributions in the universe, we promote $a_0$ to a variable in spherically symmetric mass distributions, which is sensitive to mass external to the locally enclosed spherical region. Instead of a boost of $a_0$ in terms of gravitational potentials as in EMOND, we show that a boost in terms of this directionless inverse-square field roughly amounts to the boost needed to accommodate the mass discrepancies of MOND in galaxy clusters, while retaining MOND predictions in galaxies. We begin to generalize this approach by defining a new $a'_0=G\sum_{i}m_i/|\mathbf{r}-\mathbf{r_i}|^2-a_N$, where $a_N$ is the magnitude of the usual Newtonian acceleration.

A heuristic sketch how it could fit all together with time

On a scientific meta-level, it is discussed how an overall understanding of the physical universe can be built on the basis of well-proven theories, observations, and recent experiments. In the light of almost a century of struggle to make (common) sense of Quantum Mechanics and to reconcile it with General Relativity, it is proposed to (for some time) forget about quantizing gravity or striving for one Theory of Everything or 'Weltformel', which would describe the whole of reality seamlessly without any joints or suture marks. Instead of one single monolithic formalism, a three-legged compound approach is argued for. Quantum Mechanics, Relativity and Thermodynamics are proposed as the main pillars of reality, each with its well-defined realm, specific features, and clearly marked interfaces between the three of them. Not only classical reality, which is rather directly accessible to us, is then comprehensively modelled by their encompassing combination. Quantum phenomena are understood as undoubtedly lying at the bottom of classical physics and at the same time, they become 'fully real' only when embedded in classical frames, i.e., preparation and measurements in time. It is then where thermodynamics steps in and provides the mediating glue as it does at interfaces towards gravity. Decoherence is understood as a smooth way of gradually transferring information and basically dumping entropy to a suitable environment. The aim of this short contribution is not to deliver novel quantitative results but rather to propose a comprehensive research program and to coarsely lay out a very roughly coherent sketch starting from the beginning of the one universe, which we inhabit. The all-embracing picture is claimed to be one of ('mutually induced') emergence.
