Selbstduale Vertexoperatorsuperalgebren und das Babymonster (Self-dual Vertex Operator Super Algebras and the Baby Monster)

Abstract

We investigate self-dual vertex operator algebras (VOAs) and super algebras (SVOAs). Using the genus one correlation functions, it is shown that self-dual SVOAs exist only for half-integral central charges. It is described how self-dual SVOAs can be constructed from self-dual VOAs of larger central charge. The analogy with integral lattices and binary codes is emphasized. One main result is the construction of the shorter Moonshine module, a self-dual SVOA of central charge 23.5 on which the Baby monster - the second largest sporadic simple group - acts by automorphisms. The shorter Moonshine module has the character q^(-47/48)*(1+ 4371q^(3/2)+ 96256q^2+ 1143745q^(5/2) +...) and is the "shorter cousin" of the Moonshine module. Its lattice and code analog are the shorter Leech lattice and shorter Golay code. We conjecture that the shorter Moonshine module is the unique SVOA with this character. The final chapter introduces the notion of extremal VOAs and SVOAs. These are self-dual (S)VOAs with character having the same first few coefficients as the vacuum representation of the Virasoro algebra of the same central charge. We show that extremal VOAs exist at least for the central charges 8, 16, 24, 32, 40 and that extremal SVOAs exist only for the central charges c=0.5, 1, ..., 7.5, 8, 12, 14, 15, 15.5, 23.5 and 24. Examples for c=24 (resp. 23.5) are the (shorter) Moonshine module. Again, our results are similar to results known for codes and lattices.

Covariant Bimodule Connections and Noncommutative Geometric Yang-Baxter Solutions

We introduce a new class of Yang--Baxter solutions, which we call \emph{noncommutative geometric solutions}, constructed from quantum group noncommutative geometries. These solutions are built from a quantum homogeneous space, endowed with a covariant differential graded algebra and a noncommutative Koszul connection $\nabla$. If $\nabla$ is a bimodule connection, that is, if its generalised flip map $σ$ is well defined, then a simple set of sufficient conditions for $σ$ to be a Yang--Baxter solution is given. These results are applied to the cominuscule quantum flag manifolds $\mathcal{O}_q(G/L_S)$ endowed with their Heckenberger--Kolb calculi. The noncommutative complex geometry of the calculi decomposes their Yang--Baxter operator $σ$ into three parts: holomorphic, anti-holomorphic, and cross-type. For the non-exceptional examples, the holomorphic and anti-holomorphic solutions recover, up to scalar multiple, the usual quasitriangular braidings of the associated Drinfeld--Jimbo $U_q(\mathfrak{l}_S^s)$-modules. However, we get a new extension of these braidings to the direct sum, which remarkably restricts to an involutive operator on the cross terms. As an application, we produce a simple uniform presentation of the degree two relations of the Heckenberger--Kolb calculi as a \emph{quantum exterior algebra} associated to the generalised flip map $σ$.

GKLO representations for shifted quantum affine symmetric pairs

In this note, we introduce shifted quantum affine symmetric pairs of split simply-laced type, and construct their GKLO representations, following similar recent developments in the case of shifted twisted Yangians. A full proof that our formulas yield a representation is given.

A vertex operator algebra for the S-fold realisation of a non-unitary Haagerup--Izumi modular fusion category

We show that there exists a strongly rational vertex operator algebra $V_{11}$, proposed by Flohr, whose representation theory $\mathrm{Rep}\,V_{11}\simeq\mathrm{Sem}\otimes\mathcal Z(σ_2\mathcal F)$ as braided categories. Here $\mathrm{Sem}$ is the semion category (with the spherical structure in which its generator has dimension $-1$), $\mathcal F$ is Ostrik's twisted Haagerup category and $σ_2$ is the Galois automorphism $ζ_{117}\mapstoζ_{117}^2$.
